SARS-CoV-2 genomic surveillance in Spain

In Spain, RELECOV network was created to face the challenges that raised with SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.

Led by the National Microbiology Center at Carlos III Health Research Institute (CNM-ISCIII), RELECOV is a collaborative network of microbiology reference laboratories created to perform genomic surveillance at national level.

It aims to monitorize the viral evolution and effect of the different variants through NGS performed at regional level at the different Autonomic Communities which build this network.

All the data gathered will help Public Health interventions and policy decisions, and thereby make a contribution towards reducing the toll of COVID-19 on our population.
